Hurricane Sandy - Update 29 Oct 2012
Update, October 29, 2012 - Regarding Hurricane Sandy and the King’s College campus. The
national weather service reports have remained consistent calling for increased rain and wind during today. The storms significant effects should be felt in the area beginning this afternoon through Tuesday evening.
- Classes and college offices are closed today, Monday and Tuesday.
- During the storm avoid using elevators. Elevators may be turned off prior to the start of the storm.
- Avoid going outside except as necessary
- The Marketplace Dining Room will be open from 7 am to 7pm on Monday and Tuesday. Hours for Wednesday will be announced at a later time
- Academic advisement will be extended through Monday, November 5. Registration for spring classes will begin on Tuesday, November 6.
- The Scandlon Center and Recreation Facility is expected to be open for student use from 1 pm to 10 pm, if there is sufficient staff to operate the facility.

WILKES-BARRE –
City Mayor Tom Leighton has imposed a citywide curfew beginning at 9 p.m. Monday.
Leighton announced the curfew at a late morning news conference.
"This is a different storm than last year," Leighton said referring to the September 2011 flood.
Leighton imposed a state of emergency for the city and the curfew from 9 p.m. to daybreak Tuesday. The mayor said police will actively enforce the curfew for motorists and pedestrians.
